Why become a CASA member?

Membership gives you the opportunity to help guide the future of CASA. Members enjoy the benefit of networking with other farm safety stakeholders, receive discounts for online training courses, free one-way shipping of teaching kit resource items and more. Current members include farmers, safety professionals, agri-businesses, non-profit organizations and other farm safety influencers. Joining CASA means working alongside some of the best and brightest in farm safety.

What are the membership fees?

CASA has two membership levels, Basic and Enhanced. Visit the Join CASA page for more details, including membership fees.

When does my membership expire?

All memberships run for one year (12 months) from the time you sign up. You will be notified when it’s time to renew.

Are membership fees prorated?

No, new memberships are for one year, starting when you sign up.

Is there a grace period for membership renewals?

There is a 30 day grace period after your membership expires. Online renewal is simple and fast and is accessible at any time.

How to I pay for a new membership or membership renewal?

Paying for or renewing your membership online is fast and easy. If you’d prefer to pay for or renew your membership by cheque or over the phone, contact CASA.

My membership expired. How do I become reinstated?

CASA offers members a 30 day grace period following the expiration of their membership. If you are within this time frame, simply renew your membership online. If your membership has lapsed beyond the grace period, please contact CASA.

Is my membership transferable?

Memberships are not transferable. However, if the membership is in the name of an organization, you can appoint a representative at any time. Contact CASA for more information.

What duties and responsibilities do I have as a CASA member?

Members drive the direction of CASA’s focus by voting for and serving as Board Members. Voting members also have the opportunity to vote on resolutions at CASA’s Annual General Meeting. Member input and Board directives are integral to CASA’s success.

I am an Enhanced member, can I vote more than once?

Enhanced members are entitled to one vote. Enhanced members may name one person who may vote at CASA’s Annual General Meeting and run for the CASA Board of Directors.

What are Safety Panel surveys?

Periodically CASA requires input from stakeholders and members about CASA’s programming and services. We gather this information through on-line surveys. These surveys are an opportunity outside of the Board and the Annual General Meeting to provide input.

How much can I expect to save through the conference discount?

Basic members can save $25 per conference registration (to a maximum of one registration). Enhanced members can save $25 per conference registration (to a maximum of four registrations).

What can I purchase through the CASA shop?

You can purchase some of CASA’s teaching kit items like egg helmets and glow germ kits. We also take custom orders on items like the Chemical-look-a-like kit. Contact CASA for more information.

How do I get my discounts for the conference, the CASA shop and on-line courses?

Simply log-in using your membership details, when you check-out, your discounts will be automatically applied.

Who are the Subject Matter Experts I can contact with questions or concerns?

At CASA, we have Agricultural Health and Safety Experts and Communications on staff that can help you with any questions and concerns you might have about farm safety. If they can’t help you, they know who can!

What is the database of farm safety news and media clippings and how do I access it?

CASA closely monitors both on-line and print media, gathering hundreds of media articles and clippings related to farm safety. Contact CASA for more details or to request a search.

What are topic-specific articles and how can I use them?

CASA has an archive of safety advice articles on everything from preventing grain entrapment to cold weather safety advice. Upon request, CASA will provide you content that you can publish in newsletters or blogs. All we ask is that you provide attribution to CASA.
